For the client who commissioned the Boardroom Alpha project, the goal was clear: to create a space that conveys authority, rigor, and cutting-edge design, without ostentation. Our approach to custom projects is based on a deep understanding of the context and intended use. In a high-end conference room, the aesthetics must support functionality and concentration during meetings. That’s why choosing custom solutions allows us to overcome the limitations of off-the-shelf products. Every millimeter is calibrated to the room’s specific dimensions, natural and artificial lighting, and the management’s precise multimedia needs.

Boardroom Alpha: The origins of a unique project
The Boardroom Alpha project was born from an ambitious challenge: to create a large table (nearly ten meters long) that would be both lightweight and incredibly inviting. The elongated trapezoidal shape, which tapers gently toward the ends, was designed to encourage eye contact among all participants, breaking down the rigid hierarchies of traditional rectangular tables.
To achieve this result, we worked intensively on the material aspects of the product. The combination of different textures serves not only a decorative purpose but, above all, helps define the functional zones of the tabletop.
Contrasting materials: the fusion of leather and wood
Upon closer looking at Boardroom Alpha, you immediately notice the clean, refined division of the tabletop. We designed specific leather-covered panels to run along the entire perimeter. The matte finish of the leather, in a deep, dark shade, offers a tactile, anti-glare surface, ideal for using a laptop and reading documents.
At the center, serving as the backbone of the entire composition, are veneered half-panels. The use of wood adds warmth, balancing the technical precision of the surrounding environment. The selection of raw materials, carried out in-house by our technicians, guarantees visual and structural quality, fully in line with the values associated with “Made in Italy” and our long-standing tradition. The grain pattern demonstrates that no detail is left to chance. During the design phase, we precisely mapped out the grain direction. This means that the wood’s grain is not arranged randomly but follows a direction designed to emphasize the table’s length and continuity, creating an uninterrupted visual flow from one end of the table to the other.
The integration of technology into bespoke meeting tables
The defining feature of the Boardroom Alpha project, and the characteristic that places it at the pinnacle of bespoke meeting tables, is its ability to conceal state-of-the-art technology. In a contemporary boardroom, the presence of monitors, microphones, simultaneous translation systems, and power sources is essential, but the sight of cables and inactive devices severely compromises the elegance of the space.
To solve this problem, we designed a complex, multi-layered central structure. The technology is there, but it’s only noticeable when the user actually needs it, disappearing beneath the product’s surfaces once the meeting ends.
The technical “Core Wall” as the beating heart
The table base is not made of simple legs, but of what our technicians refer to as a muretto (technical core wall). This central architectural element, spanning over 8.7 meters, functions as a true technical conduit. The core wall structure supports the weight of the tops and, thanks to its geometry, becomes a hollow, protected technical volume.
All power and data cabling is housed inside this core wall. This advanced solution allowed us to avoid unsightly cable management by routing everything directly from the floor to the access hatches on the table surface.
Pop-up Microphones, Outlets, and Retractable Monitors
The central wooden surface is not a single, static piece; it consists of a series of finely aligned access hatches. Veneered to blend seamlessly with the wood grain direction of the top, these hatches conceal dedicated compartments. At a touch, smooth and silent mechanisms reveal conference microphones, multifunctional power outlets, and retractable monitors. Technology integration thus becomes an elegant, fluid interaction that supports meeting dynamics without ever getting in the way.
The engineering behind bespoke meeting tables: modularity and structure
Crafting bespoke meeting tables of this scale presents major logistical and structural challenges. A table measuring nearly ten meters cannot be transported or installed as a single block. For Boardroom Alpha, our R&D department adopted a high-precision modular approach.
Sectional breakdown for large dimensions
Construction drawings show how the top is divided into multiple side-by-side sections. Each segment, approximately 1.4 meters wide, was engineered to interlock perfectly with the next. Coupling tolerances are reduced to zero, ensuring that, once assembled on-site, the table appears as a continuous monolith. The joints between the various panels become a refined graphic detail rather than a visual flaw.
The role of the subtop and structural finishes
Supporting the leather and wood modules is a structural subtop. To guarantee maximum flatness and prevent any warping over the years, we utilized an MDF and plywood subtop. Combined with a magnetic fastening system for the closure panels, this setup ensures absolute solidity and easy maintenance.
To preserve aesthetics even in less visible areas, the entire subtop is treated with a lacquered finish. This design choice creates a crisp, deep shadow line that makes the top appear almost suspended above the central core wall, visually lightening the overall composition. Furthermore, integrated inspection panels in the lower structure allow IT technicians to access the cabling easily and non-invasively.
