Doors and partitions: customization meets design

In the heart of New York, IOC project partners recently completed a tailor-made doors and partitions project for a prestigious automotive foundation. While confidentiality prevents us from naming the client, the project showcases our ability to deliver high-quality, fully customized solutions even on relatively modest linear meters (450 m in this case) compared to our standard projects.

The project was designed with meticulous attention to aesthetic and functionality. We used our versatile Ultralight, which includes double-glass, single-glass partition, swing doors, and sliding doors. In this project we have some sections feature fully glazed doors to allow natural light to flow through, while other sections include solid panels for privacy. All solid panels were carefully customized in lacquered and wood veneer finishes, harmonizing with the anodized dark bronze profiles to create a cohesive and elegant aesthetic.

This combination of transparency, material richness, and color balance ensures that our doors and partitions seamlessly integrate into the classical-contemporary mood that the architects (Gensler) imagined for the space. This project proves that customization and design excellence for us can coexist without compromising efficiency or project timelines.

Tailor-made solutions: from handles to technology

One of the most distinctive elements of this project was the refurbishment of the original brass handles. Unlike standard Ultralight doors, the client required a solution that would preserve and reintroduce the historic handles from their headquarters. Our technical office led a detailed study to integrate these handles seamlessly into both "analog" doors and high-tech doors equipped with centralized locking systems and room scheduling capabilities.

Customized doors and partitions with historic brass handles

This process demonstrates our ability to merge aesthetic value with technical innovation. Every handle, hinge, and locking system was carefully adapted to fit the design language of the space, while maintaining the usability and security expected in a modern executive environment. By achieving this, our doors and partitions not only respect the client's historical identity but also meet contemporary operational needs.

The project highlights a fundamental advantage of Ultralight: its flexibility. Whether working with single-glass panels, double-glass doors, or fully solid panels, our solutions can be tailored to match any architectural vision without compromising structural integrity or visual harmony. This adaptability proved crucial in this case: the building, a landmark of modern architecture from the 1960s (among the first designed around the concept of an integrated garden) is based on a 6'×6' module, wider than the standard American grid. Ultralight aligned seamlessly with this atypical module, preserving proportions and continuity. As a result, every detail, from the recovered brass handles to the dark-bronze anodized profiles, contributes to a refined, cohesive workspace.

Project management: timing and collaboration

Even though the bespoke nature of this project, all phases followed our standard process, demonstrating that customizations are part of everyday IOC project partners' workflow. From order receipt and quotation, through technical problem-solving and customization, to delivery and on-site installation, the project adhered strictly to the original timelines.

Collaboration played a critical role in the project's success. Our team worked closely with renowned architects to translate their vision into reality. The coordination between our Italian headquarters and the American branch provided a smooth communication and execution. On-site, our specialized staff managed installation, adjustments, and quality control, guaranteeing that each door and partition met both design expectations and functional requirements.

This process exemplifies how IOC project partners handles tailor-made projects efficiently, even with highly customized components. The project demonstrates that advanced design, technical precision, and collaboration can coexist without causing delays, setting a benchmark for future headquarters and corporate installations.

A cohesive executive space: function, light, and privacy

The final result is an environment that balances privacy, collaboration, and natural light. Sections of double-glass and single-glass walls allow transparency and communication, while opaque panels and doors provide areas for focus and confidential discussions. Sliding doors ensure fluid circulation, while custom finishes maintain the aesthetic coherence.

The doors and partitions blend seamlessly with the dark bronze anodized profiles and the warm tones of the lacquered and wood veneer panels. This combination supports the classical-contemporary style chosen by the architects, reinforcing both elegance and functionality.

Ultralight doors and partitions in dark anodized aluminum integrating light, privacy, and style Ultralight is the ideal choice for spaces requiring versatility. Its modularity and customization options allow for a smooth integration of functional and aesthetic requirements, ensuring that the workspace is not only practical but also inspiring.

In conclusion, this New York project highlights how IOC project partners' doors and partitions combine technical expertise, attention to detail, and seamless project management. From custom handles to advanced locking systems, every element contributes to a refined, functional, and visually cohesive environment.
